Every figure on this site,
and where it came from.
Fact sheets, statistics, election results and downloads. This page also carries the site's data policy, because a constituency that asks for a land audit should be able to show its own working.
Published means traceable
Every number on this website traces either to a named source or to a calculation from one, both listed on this page.
Recorded or derived, always labelled
A recorded figure comes from a named published source. A derived figure is calculated here from recorded figures, and the method is printed with it.
One place to edit
All figures live in a single data file. Correcting a number there corrects it on every page at once.

Methodology
How every derived figure was calculated.
Published in full so the numbers can be checked and challenged rather than taken on trust.
Households and new household formation
The recorded population of 43,155 divided by the national average household size of 3.3 people from the 2022 census gives 13,077 households. Applying the observed settlement growth rate of 3.93 per cent gives roughly 514 new households a year.
Age bands
National 2022 census proportions applied to the recorded population: 30.54 per cent under 15 and 5.56 per cent over 65, with the urban working-age share of 71.4 per cent. The 15 to 35 share of 37.7 per cent is derived from the Kweneng East youth count of 124,561 against that district's population.
Growth rates
Compound annual rates from the census returns. 2001 to 2011 gives 15.0 per cent a year; 2011 to 2022 gives 3.93 per cent a year, against a national rate of 1.40 per cent over the same period.
Ward populations
The constituency total apportioned across the six wards in proportion to each ward's 2024 council poll, then households at the national average size. Ward figures sum exactly to 43,155. This is a proxy for relative ward size, not a ward-level enumeration.
Demand indicators
Each indicator is scored 0 to 100 against the national benchmark, where 50 is the national position and 100 is three times it. The basis for each score is printed beside it on the investment page.
Sector opportunity scores
Scored 0 to 100 weighting three factors equally: the size of the measured service gap, the growth rate of demand for that service, and how quickly capital can be deployed given land and regulatory conditions.
Derived figures are planning estimates built on published data. They are sound enough to size an opportunity and to brief a board, and they are not a substitute for a ward-level survey or a formal appraisal.
